06/17/07 Patrick Tarpy has broken the 4 minute barrier, the first time that a native Mainer has done it on Maine soil! More information can be seen on the results page.

06/14/07 Patrick Tarpy has announced that he will be joining the field in this year's race! He ran a 3:41.28 in the 1500 in Boston last week, the equivalent of a 3:59.3 mile, and is all set to give Lou Luchini a run for the money.

06/12/07 The Downeast Group at Smith Barney has agreed to sponsor the sub-4:00 minute mile prize of $1500 this year. Jeff Caron and Gabe Rivard are signed up to help bring Louie Luchini through in under four minutes. Top female master Zofia Wieciorkowska (1 mile PR of 4:41) and high school all-American Ayalew Taye (4:08.50 at the 2007 Nike National High School Track Meet) in will also contribute to a very fast field. 03/15/07 This year's raffle grand prize is a family weekend getaway to the North Conway Hampton Inn and Suites. The package is courtesy of the Olympia Companies of Portland, Maine.

03/10/07 This year's race to feature a Father/Child division. Fathers will form a team with their child and their combined times will determine their place. All teams will receive a $10 Friendly's gift certificate just for entering.

03/15/06 $5000.00 Prize authorized for first New England School Graduate to run a sub 4:00:00 minute mile on the course. The prize is insured by a donation from Orthopaedic Associates of Portland.

03/29/06: The raffle is looking even better than last year with the addition of a grand prize family vacation. 

04/05/06: The Maine Running Company to serve as Pre-Race Headquarters Saturday the 17th before the race.
